Classmates Remember Ecton

Vietnam - National Archives Museum.jpg

The Boonsboro High School Class of 1965

collected donations from our classmates

for a contribution to the VWVM

to honor our classmate Harry Ecton.

Harry was killed in action on January 31, 1968

during the TET Offensive.

An Honor Banner was also purchased in Harry’s name

to be displayed in Boonsboro.

Several classmates took the banner

to Homewood Retirement Village

to show it to Harry’s mother, Brigitte Ecton.

We also gave her a copy of the information

and the donation letter regarding the Monument

so she could see what is being built.

Mrs. Ecton appreciated that Harry’s classmates

chose to honor him in this way.

We are happy that she lived long enough

to see these honors

and recognition of her son’s sacrifice.
