Four of these boys (forced to be men way beyond their age) were very close friends.  

 

Harry was so proud of his uniform.
 

Orv raced that black '62 Chevy up and down Main Street in Boonsboro burning rubber from one block to another.  

 

He told us HE DIDN'T CARE WHAT HAPPENED BECAUSE HE KNEW HE WOULDN'T BE COMING HOME.  

 

We all just tried to reassure him he would, but he didn't.
